2017, a perfect vintage! An exemplary weather, qualitative and quantitative harvests. The wines are fine, rich with a very good ageing potential.
Coming from a terroir mainly made up of clay-limestone soils, on which grow vines over 70 years old, this cuvée is composed of 100% Grenache noir
This Vin Doux Naturel Grenat is made from a manual harvest and a meticulous sorting of the grapes directly in the vineyard and on arrival in the cellar. It is vinified in a traditional way (total destemming, red wine making followed by a mutage of the must with a neutral alcohol between 5% and 10%). This wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for twelve months.
Between sweetness and greediness, we find here aromas of small black fruits like cherry and wild blackberry as well as a beautiful minerality. In the mouth, nice ripe tannins, with a very fresh and fruity finish.
It will go well with desserts such as Tiramisu, Spéculoos/caramel beurre salé pie and chocolate fondant.
It will keep for 5 to 7 years, and should be served between 9° and 12°.
